Change is inevitable. We at the Central Pennsylvania Chapter, CSI (CPC-CSI) have long held that building a network of trusted advisors and resources is great benefit to the Architecture, Engineering and Construction community. Working together, collaborating and sharing information benefits everyone. Traditionally, this has been accomplished through face-to-face meetings, in-person educational seminars or training events and trade shows; but things have changed. Actually, they have been changing for many years. The ever-increasing availability of all-things-online has certainly contributed to a slow but relentless decline in attendance at in-person events such as CPC-CSI’s annual Exhibitors’ Show and Educational Program, which ran for over 4decades.
Then came Covid-19 driving social-distancing, prohibitions on large gatherings, and forcing profound and immediate changes in the way we interact to exchange information and ideas with each other.
Where possible, companies shifted their employees to work-from-home. Meetings and seminars quickly went virtual. Large, in-person events were postponed or cancelled altogether.
While we look forward to a time when we can again gather together, we recognize that it is simply not prudent to do so for the foreseeable future. In response to Covid-19, CPC-CSI has been conducting our monthly meetings online and we will not be hosting our Exhibitor’s Show in March. Although meeting online is not the same as getting together in person it has made it easy for members and guests, who do not wish to travel, to join our monthly program from the comfort and convenience of home.
Our online format also provides an excellent opportunity for product and company representatives to engage with our Central Pennsylvania A/E/C community, for example, you could:
Sponsor or present a virtual program, tour or event
Contact Chris Atwood, AIA, Program Committee Chair; firstname.lastname@example.org
Signup for a virtual “Table-Top” presentation to showcase your company or products
Contact Bill Deck to reserve your virtual table-top spot;email@example.com
Become a member, or sponsor an emerging professional to join CPC-CSI today
What awesome opportunities to connect with several designers and specifiers at once; and have your company recognized in our monthly newsletter - CHOICE. I invite you to visit our websitewww.cpc-csi.com for more details, and to connect with our community of architects, engineers, specifiers and construction experts.
